Praying for a Miracle!

Many of you already know about our dear friends Laura and Eric. This past week, Eric (35) was diagnosed with advanced stomach cancer.

We four became fast friends when they moved to Minot with the airforce in 2008. With much in common and their love for our girls we found ourselves spending much time together during the two years they lived here. When they told us they were moving to Louisiana last November, our hearts were crushed - but obviously not as devastating as hearing the news from this week.

One of the things that drew me to Laura was her deep love for the Lord that was so evident in everything she did. Her faith is so strong and she's doing well amidst the chaos. Please pray for her though cause she's 20 weeks pregnant with their first baby boy, due in mid October.

Eric and Matt had many great times together as well - shooting, playing music, cruising Broadway, eating steaks and having many spiritual discussions.

They are like an aunt and uncle to our girls. Always grateful for this relationship as their real aunts and uncles live so far away.

Laura's parents call us "The Twins" - Laura and I actually share the same birthday - October 19th! (I am four years her senior though!)

Both Laura and Eric's parents have become so so dear to us and we actually have gotten to know them quite well. We have stayed in touch since they've moved and now they are obviously on our hearts and minds all the time. Dear dear people they all are - they have raised Eric and Laura in solid homes and now their faiths are being put to the test.

I just know they will make it.....

The Lord is their joy and strength.....

Their impact on our lives will always be a testament to God's great love - we weren't even praying for friends - but God knew we needed them. They have blessed our lives in so many ways and we are eternally grateful.

Please pray that God's will is done in their lives.

Berube Bites

Zucchini Bread

3 cups flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
3 tsp cinnamon
3 eggs
1 cup vegetable oil
2 1/4 cups sugar
3 tsp vanilla
2 cups grated zucchini
1 cup chopped walnuts

Bake 40 minutes or so till toothpick comes out clean. Less for muffins.

*My alterations*

I used 1/2 cup oil and 3/4 cup applesauce - if you don't have enough zucchini you could also subsitute applesauce for that. I also cut down on the sugar and used a scant 2 cups. I like to sprinkle some walnuts on the top of the loaves or muffins as well.

My girls have just devoured these and my hubby as well - a new favorite around here!

Happy Mother's Day to me!

Abbigail Joy and Gabriella Hope - the joys of my life.....the ones who made my lifelong dream come true:

BEING A MOMMY!!! :)

Birthday Balloons

We have three family birthdays in April:

Abbigail on the 15th, Daddy on the 24th and Papa Berube on the 25th.

Since Papa Berube isn't here in person anymore, we thought he might still enjoy a balloon in Heaven.

So.....every year Abbigail gets a balloon for her birthday and then on Papa's birthday she "sends" it to him :)

This year daddy got a balloon too and so Abbigail figured that since Papa is a boy we should send Daddy's balloon too!

We love you Papa Berube - Happy Birthday!

Sweet Simple Sister Silliness

I am convinced that Ella is going to be a clown. She is constantly coming up with random funny things to do and then she comes waltzing into the room to make us laugh!

But how did this happen? Well..... Abbigail thinks she is the funniest thing ever and she laughs at EVERYTHING she does! So now that Ella gets a reaction, she continues entertaining. Such a middle child.....

so here she is.....this is how it began....stacking lid between teeth flipped up covering face......all her own idea.....

Abbigail giggles......

Ella attacks with lid as Abbigail giggles some more.....

And we're back at it again! Oh the fun to be had with a silly sister! Such cheap entertainment for mommy.....LOVE IT!
